The general DTI site is worth a visit on any business related issue. Its Employment Relations area is excellent for information on employment matters and developments including rights and legislation. It lists publications available and also has excellent links to other sites. A great place to start an information search. Rating |

TIGER (Tailored Interactive Guidance on Employment Rights) is also a DTI site. At the moment it only covers two areas; Maternity Rights and National Minimum Wage, however, over the next few years the DTI say they will be expanding it to cover many other aspects of Employment Law. It is an excellent concept, basically walking you through the legal aspects of each topic. It is very good if you are new to the area. Once it covers additional areas it will be a very useful site. It is aimed at small and medium sized businesses in Yorkshire and Humberside, but a lot of the information applies to the UK as a whole. It has a lot of basic free information and you can register for a free "What's New" e-mail which highlights main developments in Employment Legislation and is issued every 3/4 weeks. You can also access information on Employment Law Solicitors and there is a Professional Area you can register at.
